Andres Femandez have been fantastic at contacting me with current or former
representatives and governors.
I want to thank the staff of the Office of International Students and Scholars at
Rice very warmly. In particular, Dr. Adria Bciker, the Director of the Office, showed me
from the beginning what a great professional and woman she is. Her comprehension
and support have been keystones during my transition. Her collaborators, Sandra
Bloem, Marta Kapusta and Maria Rovira, have also been a consistent source of
understanding.
I would also like to highlight the role of my Latin American acquaintance at
Houston. My dear friends (and future Ph.Ds in Political Science) Veronica Caro and
Amalia Mena, along with their husbands Sebcistian and Diego, made my life much
healthier and funnier, and also closer to my home style. Long life to the interaction of
empanadas, tacos and arepas!
Last (but not least, in any way!), a very Specicil person deserves substantive
credit, not only for her insightful comments about how legislative behavior should be
unfolded, but also for everything else. What a paradox, I spent the happiest five and a
half years of my life with that person, but also the two saddest ones without her, during
my first lonely four semesters at Rice. Then, two hearts created a virtual bridge that
connected the 5,062 miles between Houston and Buenos Aires and solidified a love
without barriers. Now, finally together, we share far more than a research project and a
pair of golden rings with the same names. We share a way we have decided to walk
together and is called life. I feel the happiest guy in the world for knowing that my hand
will always be held by yours whenever we take a step. Thanks, Marina, for having
entered into my life and for letting me be a part of yours! And never forget: Te quiero uo
uo!
