higher level as well as between networks may also have important implications for sex differences.
However, in contrast to a notion of hierarchically nested contexts and re-emphasising Sutton-
Smith’s point presented earlier, it is probably closer to the nature of human experience that these
multiple layers are embedded and intertwined within everyday interactions and proximal processes
without contextual boundaries. Either way, further detailed research is needed to compare the
interactive forces and processes within and between male and female networks.
