Health outcomes have already been described as changes in consumer welfare
resulting from health care consumption. Good health is desirable, so consumer
welfare will be higher with better health, other things being equal. However,
good health is not the only desirable end and an individual’s welfare or well-
being is influenced by many other factors (figure 5).
