ics. Such activities are then dignified as promoting some unspecified, non-
predictive ”understanding”, ”wisdom” or even ”beauty”
, Hutchison (1994:29).

historisk kontekst.
Backhouse
(1985:1): ”...
the subject matter of economics is constantly changing. Not only
are the issues with which economists are concerned changing in response to
political and social change, but the economy is itself changing
inden for 0konomi, jf. Beed & Beed (2000), ingen let Videnskabsteoretisk 0vel-
se at gennemf0re i praksis.

4. En afsluttende bemærkning

Lad os slutte denne korte teorihistorisk betingede beretning med endnu to
konsekvens heraf far den f0rende amerikanske 0konom inden for denne teori-
retning det næstsidste ord. I sin beskrivelse af, hvorledes 0konomierne udvikler
sig over tiden, skriver han sammenfattende herom: ”
Our knowledge about eco-
nomic events occurring through time is, however asymmetric: although we may
know the past, we cannot be sure that we have any reliable knowledge about
the economic future. The future remains to be created by human actions and is
not merely determinated by some immutable economic law. In other words, for
many important economic activities - especially long-duration ones - informa-
tion about future current outcomes does
not currently exist. The economic fu-
ture is yet to be created and is not predetermined by existing rules or economic
laws
”, Davidson (1991:35).
