Tutkimuksen perusteella nahdaan, etta tyomarkkinat ja tyoelaman suhteet ovat muu-
tosprosessissa Euroopan maissa. Pohjoismaissa tyomarkkinajarjestojen Iaheiset yh-
teydet ja kontaktit antavat pohjan yhteistyolle edelleen. Tyomarkkinoiden neuvotte-
lujarjestelmissa ja paikallisen sopimisessa lienee kehittamisen varaa myos Suomes-
sa. Muissa Pohjoismaissa kuten Ruotsissa ja Tanskassa palkan maaraytyminen on
meita suuremmassa paikallista yritystasolla, ainakin muodollisesti. Ruotsissa yritys-
tasolla tyontekijoilla on selvempi rooli palkkaneuvotteluissa kuin Tanskassa. Eri-
mielisyyden vallitessa ongelmien ratkaisut ja palkankorotukset siirtyvat usein liitto-
tasolle. Kehitys on erilaista Saksassa, jossa paikallista sopimista on esiintynyt lahin-
na uusilla toimialoilla, joissa tyonantaja ei ole jarjestaytynyt.
